How do I apply?

To apply for this expedition, simply click on the "Apply Now" button on our website. You will be directed to an application form. Fill out the form with all necessary details, such as your personal information, any relevant outdoor experiences, dietary restrictions, and so on. Once you've completed and submitted the form, our team will review it and get back to you within a week with the next steps.

What is there to eat?

During the trip, our menu will consist mainly of diverse, healthy, and tasty dehydrated meals. These meals are easy to carry and simple to prepare, yet they don't compromise on taste or nutrition. The menu is designed to provide the necessary energy and nutrients for the physical activities. We will also have a variety of dehydrated snacks for munching during trekking sessions. If you have specific dietary requirements, please let us know when you apply, and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.

How safe am I on this expedition?

Your safety is our top priority. Our expedition is led by two professional guides who are trained in wilderness safety protocols and first aid. They will help navigate the terrain and manage any risks we encounter. We also carry essential safety equipment and take necessary precautions to ensure the group's safety at all times. Prior to departure, our team will conduct an equipment check to ensure everyone is properly equipped. We have planned the route to balance the adventure of trekking with consideration for safety, and we maintain a pace that suits the group. Our guides are always on hand to offer support and guidance. However, it's important to remember that any adventure activity carries inherent risks, and while we work to mitigate them, they cannot be completely eliminated.

What are the physical requirements?

Participating in our expedition requires a moderate level of physical fitness due to the nature of the trek and the potential for variable weather conditions. Participants should be able to hike up to 15 kilometers per day, carry a backpack with personal and communal equipment (around 15-20 kg), and be comfortable with the idea of camping and living outdoors for a week.

Preparation is key. We recommend that participants engage in regular cardio exercise like running, swimming, or cycling in the months leading up to the trip. Also, if possible, try to include some strength and flexibility training, as well as some hikes with a loaded backpack to get used to the weight.

What equipment do I need?

For this expedition, you'll need to bring personal hiking equipment. We'll provide a personal tent suitable for the weather conditions and basic cooking equipment as well as healthy and diverse meals. However, here are the essential items you'll need:

  1. Backpack: A hiking backpack (60-80 liters) capable of carrying your personal items and some communal equipment.
  2. Sleeping Bag and Mat: A sleeping bag rated for temperatures down to 0 degrees Celsius and an insulating sleeping mat.
  3. Hiking Boots and Clothing: Comfortable, waterproof hiking boots are a must. Pack clothing suitable for a range of weather conditions and temperatures. This should include waterproof rain gear.
  4. Personal Items: Don't forget to bring a headlamp, a water bottle or hydration bladder, a personal first aid kit, toiletries, and any personal medications you may need.

Note: Rental options are available for certain pieces of equipment. Please reach out to us if you're interested in this service.

Where will we sleep?

During our expedition, we'll be sleeping in the heart of Norway's wilderness! Each participant will have their own personal tent which is included in the trip cost. These tents are specifically designed for outdoor adventures, capable of withstanding varying weather conditions, and easy to set up and break down. Each day after our hike, we'll set up our camp in pre-designated locations, ensuring we leave no trace behind when we depart. This will be an opportunity to truly immerse yourself in nature, falling asleep under the star-filled Norwegian sky and waking up to the tranquil silence of the wilderness.

What is there to drink?

In Norway's wilderness, we're fortunate to have access to some of the cleanest, purest water in the world. All larger lakes and streaming water sources offer fresh and safe drinking water, allowing us to stay hydrated throughout our journey.

In addition to natural water, we provide a selection of hot beverages. Wake up to the invigorating aroma of freshly brewed coffee, unwind after a long hike with a variety of delicious teas, or warm up with a cup of hot chocolate. This ensures that you will have plenty to drink and can choose something that suits your tastes. Please note that alcoholic beverages are not provided on this trip, and we recommend avoiding them to maintain optimal hydration and physical condition.

How big will the expedition group be?

The expedition group will be intimate and cozy, consisting of a maximum of 13 participants. We believe that small group sizes provide the best balance between camaraderie and personal attention. This size also allows us to minimize our impact on the environment and ensure a more personalized and meaningful experience for each participant. Plus, it's a wonderful opportunity to make new friends with like-minded adventurers.

What happens in an emergency?

In the event of an emergency, rest assured that our experienced guides are trained and equipped to respond swiftly and effectively. We carry a satellite phone and GPS tracker on all expeditions, allowing us to communicate with local emergency services at any time, regardless of where we are. The health and safety of our participants are of utmost importance, and we've taken every precaution to ensure you're in safe hands throughout the journey.
